Application of Mingda distributed and integrated remote IO in the industrial robot industry
Industrial robots are one of the important equipment for achieving automated production and an important component of industrial automation.
Industrial robots are multi joint robotic arms or multi degree of freedom robots designed for the industrial field, capable of completing various operational tasks on production lines and achieving automated control of the production process.
This customer is a major industrial robot channel and integrator in China, involved in multiple fields such as welding, cutting, handling and palletizing, machine tool loading and unloading, tooling fixtures, non-standard equipment and production lines, precision component processing, etc. The specific business includes robot application system integration, design, research and development, manufacturing, and sales of intelligent equipment.
In this project, at the request of the customer, a control system consisting of Siemens S7-1200 PLC, Mingda MR30 distributed IO, and Mingda MR20 integrated IO was adopted.
The interface module and IO module used in the original plan were relatively expensive. Due to cost considerations, the customer decided to use Mingda technology for remote IO in the cluster robot application scenario (the coupler uses PROFINET communication module). For single or few robot application scenarios, MR20 integrated IO is used. The two solutions perfectly meet the customer's needs.
Compact and flexible, saving space
The electrical cabinet space of the industrial robot customer's site is small, and most of the remote IO modules currently available on the market are bulky.
The Mingda MR30 distributed remote IO and MR20 integrated remote IO are compact in size, and the distributed IO can be freely combined. The integrated IO occupies about 2/5 of the space of the distributed IO, perfectly meeting the complex requirements of small spaces and solving the installation dilemma on site.
High cost-effectiveness, addressing cost concerns
Compared with the original plan, the cost of distributed IO has been reduced by half; Integrated IO reduces the number of substations by half, making the control system more decentralized, concise, and clear. The product price is only 46% of the original solution.
High speed bus to meet complex process requirements
The Mingda MR30 series distributed IO adopts LVDS high-speed backplane bus with a bus bandwidth of 15M, fully coping with various complex processes of collaborative robot assembly lines and meeting diverse production needs on site.
